Fulfillment Center Associate (Part-Time)

- 25 hours/week
- 8:30am – 1:30pm Monday – Friday
- some weekends and evenings may be required
The Fulfillment Center Associate provides support for Fulfillment Center (FFC) operations, picking and packing food pantry orders, restocking product, and cleanliness of space. This position also provides oversight to volunteers and may assist in the Food Pantry with the distribution of orders and stocking of Corner Market, as needed.
Fulfillment Center
- Opening the FFC
- Print order tickets and prioritize by time due and program
- Update white boards with instructions and messaging for staff and volunteers
- Check for new tickets throughout shift
- Prepare online orders for delivery and pickup
- Assist volunteers picking orders
- Spot check orders for quality control
- Oversee separate storage of packed orders by program location and distribution type
- Assist with stocking fulfillment center
- Receive product list from warehouse
- Store food in the appropriate location
- Practice FIFO
- Keep space clean
- Remove trash and cardboard throughout the day
- Weigh and log food waste before removing to compost bins
- Spot sweep or spot mop, clean shelves and produce bins, keep all areas tidy
Volunteer Oversight
- Training
- Onboard newly placed volunteers to FFC operations
- Provide daily volunteer instructions and messaging
- Gather volunteers at the start of each shift and use script to prep them for their tasks
- Maintain ongoing volunteer training and correction
- Oversight
- Oversee special groups assigned to the FFC
- Assist volunteers when product is missing, not clearly labeled, or an item needs to be substituted
- Support volunteers in using Trauma Informed Care principles
Food Pantry – As Needed
- Preorder pickup
- Greet clients who arrive for preorder pickup
- Assist client with loading groceries into car
- Hold late pick ups under temp control and follow all safe food guidelines for storage
- Walk-in Clients
- Assist clients at the curbside pantry who have not placed a preorder
- Triage clients who need to place an immediate order by phone or device
- Provide technical assistance as needed or enter order for client into iPad
- Participate in stocking pantry and Corner Market with specific attention to reach-in freezer, dairy and produce coolers.
- Provide trauma-informed customer service to all clients
- Take notice of any areas that need to be cleaned

- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A valid driver’s license.
- Flexible and adaptable and able to multitask with keen attention to detail.
- Work with a team of people of all cultures, races, faiths, life styles and age groups.
- Ability and willingness to work some evening and/or weekend hours as needed.
- The ability to lift 50 lb boxes and to carry equipment and supplies.
- Excellent customer service skills and a hospitable and patient demeanor.
- CPR and First Aid Certified (will train)
- ServSafe Certified (will train)
- 5S Certified (will train)
