  • Schedule: 40 hours/week, Mon-Fri 8:00am-4:30pm. Weeknights and weekends as scheduled
  • Pay Rate: $52,000-$58,240

The Open Door is a leading nonprofit organization dedicated to building food security and improving community health through access to nutritious food. We are seeking a detail-oriented and collaborative Database and Donor Specialist to support data integrity and operational efficiency across departments. This role is central to maintaining accurate records, streamlining reporting processes, and supporting donor services and program operations.

Operations Support

  • Coordinate daily volunteer operations at Emerson Avenue, ensuring coverage and smooth start-of-day activities.
  • Train, assign, and supervise volunteers to ensure tasks are completed safely and efficiently.
  • Support all Development events and projects and work collaboratively as part of the Development Team.

Donor Services & CRM Management

  • Maintain and update donor records in Salesforce, ensuring data accuracy and completeness.
  • Process incoming mail and enter all gifts into the CRM system.
  • Segment email lists and clean data to support targeted donor communications.
  • Generate donor acknowledgment letters and streamline mail merge processes.
  • Prepare daily deposit reports for reconciliation with the Director of Finance.
  • Monitor and update recurring donor information to reduce gift attrition.
  • Create and manage donor records, campaign codes, and revenue tracking data.
  • Analyze and manipulate Excel spreadsheets to support donor reporting and insights.
  • Manage email list segmentation and data clean-up to ensure accurate and effective donor communications.
  • Perform comprehensive data analysis and revenue reports to inform fundraising decisions and strategies.

Data Projects & Systems Development

  • Collaborate with the IT Manager and senior leadership to identify data needs and implement system improvements..
  • Ensure data quality and consistency across all departments.

  4. Holiday Meal Distributions

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  1. Minimum 3 years of experience in donor services, database management, or a related field.
  2. Proficiency in Salesforce or similar CRM platforms; experience with Salesforce is a plus.
  3. Strong skills in Office 365 including Microsoft Excel and Word.
  4. Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
  5. Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal); comfortable working with stakeholders.
  6. Ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail.
  7. Self-motivated, adaptable, and resourceful in a fast-paced environment.
  8. A commitment to social justice and the mission of The Open Door.
  9. An individual who is highly motivated and an independent worker.
  10. A valid driver’s license.
  11. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and sit for extended periods of time (minimum 3 hours).
  12. Work with a team of people of all cultures, races, faiths, life styles and age groups.
  13. Ability and willingness to work evening and/or weekend hours as scheduled.
  14. Excellent customer service skills and a hospitable and patient demeanor.
