Do you enjoy solving technical problems, helping people, and keeping systems running smoothly? The Open Door is seeking an IT Support & Systems Assistant Manager to provide hands-on technology support across our organization. In this role, you’ll be the go-to resource for staff technology needs, helping ensure our teams have the tools, systems, and support they need to serve the community effectively. From troubleshooting devices and software to deploying new equipment and training staff, you’ll play a key role in maintaining the technology that powers our programs, retail operations, volunteers, and community services. You’ll work closely with the IT & Digital Transformation Manager to support day-to-day operations while contributing to larger technology initiatives across the organization. As the IT Support & Systems Assistant Manager, you’ll help staff and volunteers stay connected, productive, and supported while contributing directly to an organization dedicated to reducing hunger and strengthening lives across our service area.

The Open Door is a leading food equity organization based in Gloucester on Boston’s North Shore. The organization provides critical food resources to more than 12,000 people annually. What You’ll Do

Play a key role in creating an outstanding volunteer experience and supporting community engagement initiatives:

  • Provide help desk support and troubleshoot hardware, software, network, and phone system issues. 
  • Set up, maintain, and inventory computers, mobile devices, and technology equipment. 
  • Support employee onboarding and offboarding, including accounts, permissions, and equipment deployment. 
  • Train and assist staff on technology tools while promoting cybersecurity best practices. 
  • Support technology needs for meetings, events, and multiple organizational locations. 

What You’ll Bring

  • 3-5 years of IT support, help desk, or related experience. 
  • Experience supporting Microsoft 365 and other business applications. 
  • Strong troubleshooting, communication, and customer service skills. 
  • Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users. 
  • A valid driver’s license and willingness to work occasional evenings or weekends.

Position Details

  • Pay: $27.50-$30.25 per hour 
  • Schedule: 32 paid hours per week, Tuesday-Friday, 9:00 AM-5:30 PM, onsite Gloucester-based 
  • Benefits including prorated PTO, earned sick time, matching retirement
