- Starting range $18.00 – $19.50 / hour
- 20 hours/week
- 9:00am – 1:00pm Monday – Friday, occasional weekends & weeknights required

The Open Door is looking for a Food Rescue Associate to help keep good food moving to our clients and partners across the North Shore. You’ll play a key role in rescuing surplus food, supporting nutrition programs, and ensuring our partners and clients receive high‑quality products safely and on time.

What You’ll Do
You’ll be the backbone of our food rescue efforts — making sure good food is safely collected, transported, and delivered so it reaches the people and programs who need it most.
- Food Rescue & Deliveries: Conduct vehicle inspections, load/unload donations, assess food quality, follow safe driving practices, and record donation weights and details. Pack, load, and deliver food orders while ensuring proper temperature control and assisting partners with unloading.
- Warehouse: Maintain an organized loading dock and warehouse, weigh and log donations, operate pallet jacks, check produce quality, follow FIFO, and retrieve/pack goods for other programs.
- Other Program Support: Support the Fulfillment Center and volunteers with order picking and stocking. Help run Mobile Market events as needed by packing and staging market products.

What You’ll Bring

- Ability to lift 50 lbs and push/pull bins up to 400 lbs
- Comfortable standing, walking, climbing stairs, and getting in/out of vans
- Flexible, detail-oriented, and able to multitask
- Valid driver’s license required
- Ability to work with people of all cultures, identities, and backgrounds
