  • 40 hours a week/FT/non-exempt
  • Starting Wage $20/hour; salary commensurate with experience
  • Monday – Friday 8:00am – 4:30pm. One week per month schedule will be Tues – Sat 8:00 am – 4:30pm. Some weekends and evenings as needed.

The Mobile Market Coordinator is responsible for the smooth execution and development of the Mobile Market program, a fresh produce and grocery distribution currently at nine sites and growing, including area senior centers, public housing neighborhoods, elementary schools, and both the Danvers and Lynn campuses of North Shore Community College.

Mobile Market Administration

  1. Schedule sites strategically to increase program efficiency.
  2. Identify and develop additional Mobile Market sites utilizing the Mobile Market Truck total capacity.
  3. Liaison for Mobile Market point of contacts.
  4. Plan staffing schedule and request proper staff and equipment support.
  5. Schedule outreach opportunities for other programs and community partners.
  6. Collect and manage data: annual registration, program use, satisfaction surveys.
  7. Work closely with the development department on program branding and client interviews.
  8. Coordinate outreach opportunities with the SNAP advocate and nutrition education team.

Mobile Market Operations

  1. Make sure the Mobile Market Truck is Board of Health compliant in every community it serves.
  2. Make sure the Mobile Market Truck and all Mobile Market equipment is clean and ready for use.
  3. Retrieve mobile market master list and plan product/materials for each mobile market.
  4. Work with Food Acquisition and Distribution Manager to identify products for all markets paying special attention to audience, seasonality, and cultural appropriateness.
  5. Submit Mobile Market layout for each event paying special attention to product weight while creating a positive visual effect.
  6. Create institutional orders from SmartChoice for each market event. Provide copies to Warehouse Coordinator and Nutritionist.
  7. Work with Warehouse Coordinator to fill order ensuring market designated product is used.
  8. Keep Mobile Market Truck bays full of all products for the duration of the market for maximum appeal.
  9. Run mobile markets, gathering all data and supplying it for proper reporting.
  10. Break down Mobile Market Truck neatly after each event(s) using original packaging when possible.
  11. Evaluate with Warehouse Coordinator and/or Food Acquisition & Distribution Manager which products to hold for future markets and which should be released to the pantry.
  12. Modify SmartChoice institutional order to reflect actual distribution and update inventory.
  13. Dispose of any trash or cardboard to its appropriate receptacle

Mobile Market Fleet Coordination

  1. Ensure Mobile Market Truck is clean and ready for deployment all times.
    • Handwashing sink system clean and operating.
    • Batteries are always charged.
    • Refrigeration system operating with back up ice pads always ready.
  2. Coordinate with Food Acquisition & Distribution Manager if a vehicle is needed to supplement the Mobile Market Truck for an event.
  3. Work with Transportation Coordinator to keep Mobile Market Truck safety compliant and make sure it receives regular service in a way that doesn’t impact its operating schedule.

Volunteer and Staff Management

  1. Request any volunteers need for Mobile Market programs and events.
  2. Train and supervise volunteers placed in the Mobile Market Truck.

  1. Food drives
    • Holiday food drives
    • Letter Carriers’ food drive
    • Other food drives scheduled throughout the year
    • Empty Bowl dinner
    • Autumn Breakfast
    • Holiday Meal Distributions

  7. Ability and willingness to work some evening and/or weekend hours as needed.
  8. The ability to lift 50 lb boxes and to carry equipment and supplies.
  9. Able to operate an electric pallet jack.
  10. Excellent customer service skills and a hospitable and patient demeanor.
  11. 5S Certified (will train)
