The Thrift Fashion Processor plays a critical role in supporting the operations and sales success at Second Glance, Thrift Store of The Open Door. This position requires a keen eye for fashion and trends, a reliable work ethic, and a team player attitude. The job is physically demanding and mission-driven. All proceeds support the organization’s work to alleviate the impact of hunger in the community.

Duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Sort, price, hang, and tag clothing, shoes, and accessories to keep the store stocked for shopping.
  • Identify vintage, high value clothing, shoes, and accessories for the Boutique area.
  • Research and price items according to their value and demand.
  • Keep all clothing, shoes and accessories areas organized and clean. Refresh displays as needed.
  • Coordinate with other staff and volunteers to ensure inventory levels are processed to meet customer demand.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workstation upholding 5S principles.
  • Deliver excellent customer service and assist shoppers with their needs.
  • Work with store manager and other team members to achieve store goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with the team to plan and execute store promotions and special events.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
  • Promote The Open Door’s mission and vision to the public and donors.
  • Participate in mandatory staff meetings, including quarterly all-staff and Second Glance team meetings.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required

  • A commitment to social justice and the mission of The Open Door.
  • Uphold team values of Respect, Communication, and Compassion.
  • Retail and nonprofit experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of antiques, collectibles or resale clothing preferred.
  • Research skills and online sales experience are a plus.
  • Strong technical skills are required. Must be proficient in Word, Excel, Google Calendar, PowerPoint, and with the ability to learn new programs.
  • An individual who is highly motivated and an independent worker.
  • Flexible and adaptable and able to multitask with keen attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills a must.
  • Must be able to consistently lift 25 pounds and carry equipment and supplies.
  • Respond positively to constructive feedback.
  • A valid driver’s license
  • Work with a team of people of all cultures, races, faiths, life styles and age groups.
  • Ability and willingness to work evening and/or weekend hours as needed.
